BLACK SABBATH - HEADLESS CROSS This time I want to recommend you not an old record, but a newer one of an older group. It's the Black Sabbath record 'Headless Cross'. This record isn't as heavy as the ones tested in the last issue of our 'ZINE', but it is still very good. Drums and deep guitar sound are the characteristics of this group. Most of the lyrics contain things about devils, spirits, death, hell, black moon and so on. An example from the song 'Devil and Daughter' :
Baptised with fire, too wild to be tamed. She's hot, evil and ready, to take any man. Let no one put assunder, the power or the pain. He is the master of hell, riding again.
All songs contain similar lyrics. But I don't think, that this is very important, if you like the sound or not. I like this sound very much as a variation after some heavier records from Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Metallica and so on. But if you don't like the groups I mentionned before, because they are too heavy, then this record is good for you to start your trip in the world of heavy music. If you don't listen to this kind of sound, then why don't you try it out with this album. Give it a try guys (girls ? ).
Are there still any 'oh-no-it-is-too-heavy-freaks' reading this ? If yes, then here is a message to those freaks : don't continue to listen to this boring 'rum-ta-bum-sound'. Start now listening to the real sound 'HEAVY MUSIC'. And to complete this test : If you want to listen to slower Black Sabbath songs, then I would recommend the older records. ( I don't like them, but who cares?).
UP THE IRONS !!!
