A phone interview with Daniel of AVENGER, done by Majestic of BRS.
Ring.. Ring.. Ring.. -Halo?
Yeah hello, is Daniel there? -Yes, that's me.
Hi Daniel, here is Majestic of Brainstorm! (A few micro seconds later, the first question came:)
Which groups founded Avenger? -Avenger was founded by Super- visors, Alcatraz and Farfashion. Today Avenger contains no longer any members from Alcatraz.
What happened to the French Section? -Police problems.
Your current member status? -We have 9 members. Of which two of them are in the States (BBS). All but 2 members have modems.
Is phreaking important for you? -Yes it is, but we don't just import and release the stuff. We like to crack, make trainers and then release the stuff. We also like modems, because we like to swap fast.
Do you also mail-swapping? -Yes we do, but only with people who release demos or other own productions. Mail-Swapping for games is just to slow.
Do you run a mailbox? -Yeah, we do. Two in the States and one here in CH. 617-444-4338 and 708-474-4280 are our USA BBS. And our mailbox here in Switzerland is (056)-453-610.
Phreaking scene in Switzerland? -2 good Mailboxes.
Which one? -Ours and DDC's (now Prism). Some good mailboxes in Europe are: Fairlight mailbox in Sweden. Accumulators mailbox in Holland. Most things come from Europe. USA scene is mostly dominated by modem traders. But the USA scene is not as productive as the European. One reason is that most games come out first here in Europe.
Talking about the American scene, have you ever seen a USA demo? -No, only once a Trilogy Demo, but I didn't download it.
What's bad about modems? -The telephone bill.
Plans of Avenger in the future? -Soon a MegaDemo. Which shouldn't be too bad.
Will it be as good as RSI Mega? -You will have to see.
Will Avenger take up more members in the future? -No, we want that our members know each other, and once in a while see each other. This is not possible if you are a big group (a lot of members) spread out over a few countries.
How's the Swiss scene? -It's Ok, because there are no problems with the police.
Ok, thanks, ciao.
Majestic/BRS
