The Commodore Show UK

The show was spread over several days, but the main day for all the top U.K groups has to be the Sunday where everyone meets around the bar area, the usuall Mirage members were out in Force Dynatron, Turbo Drac psycho with SAE-Scoopex U.K new member Flash.

Also seen around the bar area were ex Chaos members who imformed me they where now part of Oracle, the lads were not at the show on Sunday but I heard they have also given up there great name to become part of Oracle (What happened Sunday Scooter!!!).

Also seen around the bar were THR telling me about there nice new filled vector routine demo, Focus(ex CSS) talking of a few more new productions by them, Crysis Int members walking around looking a bit lost!!! and Blade and Rockwell etc of Psuedo Ops looking cooool as ever !!!!

The show itself was a total bore, though its a good meeting place for all the decent contacts, the lower floor was packed out with many lame groups and young computer users. Whilst the more serious of us took to proping up the bar!! upstairs?

Mr Mutant Camelface Minter was in presence at the show but nobody took much notice, his latest products where on show but nothing was really new. There was nothing new out that was not already on the BBS circuit. Mirage managed to find a few cheap bargains at the show, disks were at 29 pounds a 100 at one stall, but they were uncertified blanks.

We all clubbed together to buy 1000 disks certified for 300 pounds which means approx 30 pence a disk, and of high quality, plus a few frebees!!!

The Novatel Bust

On the Saturday of the CBM show members of SAE/Scoopex, Mirage U.K and Odyssey where having a little do in the hotel room they booked into to be ready for the CBM show, they were o.k until a Odyssey member Mick or Big Mick Mick as he is known! decided to take a monitor, that was ok until he descovered that a securi guard was following him!! Oh shit, they called the police in and searched the hotel room, there was a nice shiny monitor and some software found, lucky for Colin (Jester) he got out just before the big bust. Members of SAE, Ogre of Mirage, Mick and a few others were carted down to the local nick (cells) most where released except Mick, who is being detained.

SAE had to sleep out!! That night as the hotel would not let'em back in! So they slept in cars overnight, I'm told it was friggin cold! Also news of BS1 being raided and being nicked for software was reported to me during writing this.
