The New Zealand Scene

Many thousands of miles away lies the country of NEW ZEALAND ! Most of you will have seen some form of production from this small land be it a demo, intro, disk mag and even a crack...if you haven't then you will soon ! NZ has about 5 main groups who mainly import from European crews, although are also talented coders producing mega cool demos, gfx and muzaks. With such a small population competition to be Number 1 in NZ is extremely fierce, making our productions very good (usually!). Most of the top NZ crews know some of the world famous groups like Quartex, Vision factory, Trilogy etc etc so we often recieve many programmes before our European friends. This is just one sign supporting a fast and cool NZ scene, which makes for good friendship and fast trading.

On the other hand NZ has many, many small groups who claim to be Number 1 and are extremely lame. BEWARE if you hear from one of these groups! Copy parties are held about every 4-6 months although are usually very small consisting of the main 5 or 6 groups only. A cool time is usually had by all who attend and many imports, productions and a few demos are released. They are usually held over a 3-4 day holiday weekend.

Finally, I would like to thank all my (Krypton) contacts for such cool and fast sendings which help to keep the NZ scene so cool...look out for more productions from New Zealand..
