(continued from last article)
And every day the run to the post office... Is the police here, or not?! If not, the run to the Amiga at home follows. I liked this very much: Every day post from people all over the world etc. And, at least, all these good, personal contacts... And this is the reason why the illusion of TRACER/CPS will never be realized! All people begin swapping with games - in this way you enter the 'real scene', then you get to know what's going on in this scene. And you're motivated to reach the top to be mentioned in the greetings of the demos and to produce something to increase the possibility to be mentioned there. This is how the scene works. And this is how the whole capitalistic world works. You must be motivated to work, to produce - otherwise you'll never "survive". TRACER wrote about people who look at demos at their friends' home instead of the "normal version" of people who look at their friends' games and buy then a computer. That's a mistake we make as old-scene-veterans. We don't understand why outstanding people don't understand US when we spend lots of money for postage and so on. These outstanding people in fact laugh about us. For them a demo is boring! They don't look at the demo with the eyes we do. They like a game much more because for them it's something interesting, something they can understand. Another fact that shows how the scene progresses (and how necessary the scene is!!): All these Bob-Demos... Someone made a bob demo with 250 bobs and wrote in the scroller "YEAH I'M GREAT/PROUD/THE BEST". Another one sees that demo. And immediately he's motivated to do it better, to make the impossible possible. For people who aren't able to do so this is of course boring. But this is real competition. We need this competition to progress. "Our scene" produced so many high skilled programmers which are needed in this world. We people MUST progress to save our world. We always have to find better ways to do something and to do so we must be motivated. These few sentences about motivation show again how wrong for example communism is. Communism destroys the force that is necessary to survive, to develop. Look at communistic countries: In the western world we have cars with catalysators to stop the pollution of the air. In the eastern world no one was motivated to develop something like that. In a few words: Communism is something for boring, stupid and lazy people! Just to come back to the bob demos: I do not say that people who don't like Bob-Demos aren't able to do something like that on their own, no, some of these people are even more progressive, they produce something new, something nobody did before. And all this just because he's motivated to get famous. So, perhaps you think now I'm crazy... In order to stop this article, now a message to TRACER: I'm very interested to swap demos with you (and of cource with other people).
